Disclosures
Welcome to my practice! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 7 years of experience practicing in the mental health field. An LCSW functions very similarly to a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. I am licensed to provide psychotherapy services in the state of Oklahoma.
Medication Management
Since many people ask about this, I am not able to provide any medication management or write prescriptions for mental health issues. If you are seeking medication management for a mental health issue, please ask and I can connect you with a provider that takes your insurance. Additionally, I can provide resources or referrals if you need a psychological evaluation.
No-Show/Cancellation Policy
A note on my cancellation policy: I charge a $100 no-show/cancellation fee for any appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice. The exception to this rule is for any sickness or contagious illness. If you wake up on the morning of your appointment feeling sick, you may cancel the appointment without penalty. For your first no-show, I will not charge you the fee, but will for any subsequent no-shows. For those of you joining me through the Open Path Collective, your no-show/cancel fee will be equivalent to the normal charge for your appointments.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapy philosophy is rooted in an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approach. I believe in providing an empathetic environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I believe in an approach to therapy that involves genuineness, honesty, and, yes, a little humor as well. I am the anti-robot therapist who believes in talking to you like a human being, treating you with value, dignity, and worth.
A note on my therapeutic approach: I may recommend the use of gradual exposure techniques to help treat your symptoms. I believe exposure is one of the best ways to treat symptoms of anxiety OCD, and PTSD. The process of exposure in therapy can bring discomfort to some clients, but through that discomfort, I believe great healing can happen. Please communicate with me about your comfort level with exposure techniques as they arise during the therapeutic process. I believe in open and honest communication with you throughout this process.
